Pepper Murray
Pepper was born and raised in Utah. He has been tied to Deseret Land and Livestock now for over 45 years. His first deer hunt was on the ranch at age eight where his cousin harvested a 200 inch four by four muley that measured 32” wide. Pepper was hooked. He has fond memories of deer routinely seen on the deer hunt then that would push over 40 inches in width, with lots of stuff! He remembers the time when there were no elk, pronghorn, nor moose on the ranch, his first sightings of these species was when he was 17.
He worked as a hired hand for four years on the ranch as a teenager, living in the bunk house, wrangling horses on frosty mornings in July, cowboying and haying when the ranch ran 10,000 pairs of cow / calves and over 1,000 bulls. After receiving his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Mayo Clinic, and sports medicine fellowship training in South Lake Tahoe, California, Pepper returned to Utah with his wife and three children and opened Mountain Orthopaedics. He has hunted and fished the ranch regularly every since.
