Summer Equipment List

This is a list of all potential items to bring during your spring and summer stay. Some of the items may not apply to you and your group.

Check Croydon, UT, and Woodruff, UT, for weather on the ranch. Note that it might be 5-10 degrees cooler than these locations.

  • Clothing (ensure you can layer as there are large temperature swings)

    • Thermal underwear (Top and bottom)

    • Two pairs of outdoor pants

    • Shorts

    • Rain pants/Coat/Rain Gear

    • Insulated pants

    • Hiking Boots

    • T-shirts

    • Sun SPF long sleeve shirts

    • Headgear (hat/beanie/gator)

    • Gloves

    • Coats/Sweaters/Vests (light and heavy)

    • Neck gaiter/buff

    • Casual clothing for lodge

    • Casual shoes/slippers/sandals

    • Plenty of socks (merino wool preferred in light and heavy-weight)

  • Rifles and ammunition (if wanting to shoot at the range)

  • Electronics/Optics

    • Binoculars

    • Camera

    • Phone charging cord(s) as applicable

    • Noise machine or white noise app (the lodge can get noisy when trying to sleep or nap)

    • Headlamp (with extra batteries or charger as applicable)

  • Hunting/Hiking day pack

  • Boot dryer (if driving in and have access to one)

  • Water bladders or reusable water bottles

  • Hand/toe warmers

  • Sunglasses

  • Toiletries personal medications

    • personal medications, corrective lenses and contacts (backup is smart, too), toothpaste, toothbrush, chapstick, sunscreen, deodorant, fingernail clippers, and bug spray.

  • Snacks and personal drinks (if hiring a cook, we have a great assortment at the lodge, but if you want something specific, bring it)

    • Electrolytes are extremely important while doing physical activities. Redmond Salt makes an amazing electrolyte mixture called Re-Lyte that tastes awesome. Go HERE to Redmond Life Store to purchase some before your hunt.

    • We do not supply alcohol at the lodge. However, if you and your group would like to bring alcohol, you are more than welcome to do so.

      • Please note alcohol is permitted only at the Lodge or at Hell Canyon Facility. You are not allowed to drink alcohol while doing activities on the ranch.

Lodging

The lodge on Deseret has all the amenities of a modern lodge (heating, electricity, hot and cold running water). Most rooms have one queen bed and a private bathroom (a handful of rooms have two twin beds). You do not need to bring bedding, sleeping bags, towels, etc.
